C.S.S. Georgia Photograph

Below is a photograph that may be an image of the C.S.S. Georgia. Photographs from the Savannah area during the Civil War are very rare because of a lack of equipment and materials for making prints. However, this image does feature an ironclad vessel that corresponds with reports of the C.S.S. Georgia‘s construction. Archaeologists Gordon Watts and Stephen James, Jr. believe this is an authentic image of the ship, while historian Scott Smith disagrees.
